Inspired by an encounter with a pilot. We spoke about living two lives, one in uniform, showing up for our jobs. We spoke about the juggling act between duty and self-expression, structure and freedom.

In this painting, the pilot represents all that it takes to be who he is: discipline, commitment, focus, and responsibility. And behind him are flowers. They symbolise beauty, softness, and dreams. This piece is about that balance.

I named this piece Contrail because with every person I meet, like this pilot, they leave behind a quality I need to carry forward in my own growth. Like discipline, emotional control, and mental clarity. And in return, I left him an idea; to invite more dreams into his life, beauty and things that cannot be explained.
